Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to common questions.

Pricing and Engagement Structure

Every engagement is scoped individually because no two organizations have the same needs, timeline, or complexity. Pricing is based on the scope and duration of the work — not a one-size-fits-all rate card. The best way to get a realistic sense of cost is to start with a free discovery call where we can talk through what you actually need.

Retainers are structured monthly, scoped to your specific situation. We agree on a set number of hours or a defined scope of involvement per month, and adjust as your needs evolve. Engagements typically run three to twelve months with the option to extend.

It depends on the engagement. Project-based work like the AI Readiness Review has a defined scope and timeline with a clear end point. Fractional Project Director engagements are retainer-based and typically run month-to-month after an initial commitment period. I don’t lock clients into lengthy contracts they don’t need.

Yes — and that’s actually how most client relationships start. The AI Readiness Review is specifically designed as a lower-commitment entry point that gives you real value on its own while naturally opening the door to a larger implementation engagement if you’re ready.

How I Work / My Process

I embed with your team rather than operating as an outside advisor who parachutes in for meetings. That means regular touchpoints with your team, active participation in project decisions, and clear accountability for delivery. You’ll always know where things stand, what’s at risk, and what’s coming next.

I adapt to your existing tools and communication preferences — whether that’s Microsoft Teams, Slack, email, or regular status meetings. Leadership reporting is built into every engagement so executives have clear, consistent visibility into project health without having to chase it down.

Primarily remote, which works well for most engagements. For organizations where on-site presence adds real value — particularly during critical project phases — that can be arranged. We’ll figure out what makes sense for your situation during the discovery process.

Typically within two to four weeks of a signed agreement, depending on current availability. If your timeline is urgent, mention it on the discovery call and we’ll figure out what’s possible.

Who I Work With

I work best with healthcare organizations — including FQHCs, clinics, and hospitals — and mid-market companies typically ranging from 50 to 500 employees. These organizations are large enough to have complex initiatives but often don’t have the internal project leadership bandwidth to execute them well. That’s exactly the gap I fill.

Yes — in fact that’s one of the most common situations I work in. The PMO & Project Leadership engagement is specifically designed for organizations that are starting from scratch or working with informal processes that have outgrown their usefulness.

No. Healthcare is one of my focus areas because of its specific complexity around compliance, change management, and technology adoption — but I work with mid-market organizations across industries. If you’re unsure whether your organization is a good fit, the discovery call will answer that quickly.

AI Consulting Specifics

That’s exactly what the AI Readiness Review is for. Most organizations that come to me aren’t sure — and that uncertainty is healthy. Rushing into AI adoption without understanding your readiness is one of the most common reasons initiatives fail. Not knowing where you stand is a starting point, not a disqualifier.

Often, yes — and previous failures actually provide useful information. Understanding what went wrong is part of how we build a more realistic and resilient path forward. A failed initiative doesn’t mean AI isn’t right for your organization. It usually means the approach, timing, or execution wasn’t right.

I’m vendor-neutral. My role is to help you identify what’s right for your organization — not to sell you a particular platform or tool. If you already have vendor relationships in place, I can work within them. If you’re starting fresh, I can help you evaluate options objectively.

That’s fine. The AI Readiness Review stands on its own as a pure consulting engagement. For implementation work, some level of project leadership is usually necessary for success — but we can scope that conversation based on what you actually need.
